Stacy Alcineus

My name is Stacy. At the time of this writing, I am currently 35 but I’ve been told that I have an old soul. I’ve had the pure luck of being diagnosed with an autoimmune condition known as Multiple Sclerosis in 2011 at the prime age of 25. Needless to say, my sense of normalcy has undergone many hurdles. Sharing my story is therapeutic for me and my ultimate goal is to put a smile on your face. I caution you to wear your seatbelt as it’s a bumpy ride. Please subscribe to my blog for more details.

Laughing and smiling are my innate specialties. I firmly believe in the power of laughter. There are moments that I choose to laugh rather than curse someone out using every color in the rainbow. It also prevents tears from creating a waterfall. Other times, I simply cannot fathom the words that are conjured out of one’s mind and creeps out their bodies. It makes me wonder which end is truly doing all the talking. I understand the idiom, “Curiosity killed the cat.” On the flip side, my all-time favorites are those who are genuinely funny by intermingling thought-provoking realities with humor like Richard Pryor, Dave Chappelle, George Carlin, and many more.

Family and friends are important to me. I come from a huge one and I’d like to believe that I’m loved unconditionally as I’m far from a saint. I do have a love-hate connection with a select few. Every now and then, I feel as though the angels assigned to me are quite pleased because it’s either I keep them busy or they’re keeping me on my toes. (Figuratively, as I’m bedbound). The beauty in that is when you’re at the bottom, there is only one way to go from here… up! Hence the name of my site & blog; “I rise.”

I’ve been through enough to say, “Thank you, Jesus!
